Days Have Gone By!!!) I anyway succeeded to bring up some money and after a couple of weeks of waiting I was finally the proud owner of The Yellow Princess and the European Sonet issue of Death Chants, Breakdowns & Military Waltzes!
Not so long thereafter, after having raised some more finances, I could also purchase the likewise European Sonet issue of Blind Joe Death and the (also) European Transatlantic issue of Transfiguration of Blind Joe Death!
And now we were approximately 1970.
During the next few years I had the possibility to visit London and the USA East Coast and in fact in the end mid 70s I held a complete vinyl collection of Fahey (missing the notorious Takoma Guitar Sampler) up to and including Old Fashioned Love. I also had (and still have) the vinyls Kottke Armadillo and Peter Lang Sphinx, and Grossman/Block How to Play Blues Guitar and furthermoore Bert&John, the classic Jansch and Renbourn album, and a little treasure: Sad Pig Dance by Dave Edwards...
And the everything was more or less laying in the shelves for almost thirty years as I haf to concentrate on finishing my grades, embark upon a proffessional career in marine engineering and, not the least, take care of and support a growing family...
Now the children are grown up and the career goes by itself and I do not have to think so much about those matters anymore..
So I have taken down those old records and books and stuff and sometimes feel like I am 25 again!
And now I am looking forward to the Fonotone Box!
Greetings
chief karlssonAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9190140530914296643.post-40185330950167715242011-03-01T11:08:27.242-07:002011-03-01T11:08:27.242-07:00Thank you, Glenn Jones.
